I was at a beer/wine festival and got the courage to go up to a woman and talk to her. I told her I thought she was pretty and was wondering if she wanted to grab something to eat with me (there were plenty of food vendors and tables near by). She started laughing. After a minute she regained her composure and said, 'My friends are such a-------. How much did they pay you to do this?' I explained that I had no idea what she was talking about. She started laughing again.
About then her friends walked up to her. When they told her they hadn't put me up to this she turned to me and said, 'You were serious?' I had a glimmer of hope, then when I told her yes, I was serious, she said, 'Oh … no … I don't go out with people like you.' With that she turned and walked away laughing.
